“Reducing emissions is essential to secure a future for the planet, but we need to stop with ideologies and pragmatically address the complexity of the issues that the ecological transition poses.” One could summarize with these few lines the meaning of the speeches of the many entrepreneurs present during the three-day Festival of the Green Economy in Parma, starting from Giuseppe Pasini (Feralpi) to Francesco Mutti passing by Giampaolo Dallara.
A kermesse characterized by a massive attendance at the more than 70 talks, which saw nearly 300 speakers from all over Italy debating on a wide range of issues from decarbonization of industrial processes to social sustainability. Garibaldi Square, the heart of the city, saw all of the festival’s main events sold out, as did the remaining 90 percent of the meetings taking place in the festival’s total 12 venues.
“We are very satisfied with this fourteenth edition of the Festival of the Green Economy,” says Alessandra Pizzi, curator of the event, “because the involvement of both local institutions and the business world has grown a lot, but above all that of the local community and in particular young people. The Festival contributed to making Parma the capital of the Green Economy for three days and to prove, as the president of the scientific committee Ermete Realacci argues, that sustainability is not so much a fad as a factor of competitiveness for businesses.”
